Page Leader: Thomas D. Barton

Thomas D. Barton is a faculty member at the California Western School of Law in San Diego. He is the Director of the Louis M. Brown Program in Preventive Law, and coordinates the activities of the National Center for Preventive Law. He researches issues about creative problem solving, preventive law, and legal theory.

Professor Barton has taught since 1978 in law schools, and for 10 years was a Visiting Professor at the University of California, San Diego, in the Department of Sociology, offering a variety of courses in Law and Society. His professional legal training was at the Cornell Law School (J.D. 1974) and he received a Ph.D. in Law at Cambridge University in 1982.
